Thanks to the peace it brought, Nagash was ultimately able to destroy all the living beings of Nehekhara, poisoning the Great River Vitae and sending a terrible plague that killed the last of that kingdom's inhabitants.

The Great Necromancer did not have time to pursue a grinding war of attrition with the Skaven, as he was planning the conquest of Nehekhara, so he offered the truce instead. The necromancer offered the Skaven some of his fortress' Warpstone in exchange for slaves, and they accepted, enslaving numerous tribes of Orcs and Goblins who were handed over to Nagash. In -1350 IC, the Skaven had signed a truce with the Great Necromancer Nagash, as their armies had proved unable to take Nagashizzar from his Undead forces and claim its great veins of Warpstone. This blade proved so deadly that, in exchange for such power, the Fellblade almost inevitably claimed its user's life. The Warpstone gem set in the pommel allowed great sorcerers like those among the Skaven Council of Thirteen to channel protective spells over great distances to aid the wielder. The Fellblade bestowed upon its wearer superhuman strength, including the ability to cut through any protection and pierce the best armour. The weapon exuded power and malice, and those Skaven who wielded the Fellblade in battle were almost always consumed by the sword's sheer hate. The result of the ratmen's horrid labours was a potent, magical long-bladed sword. In addition, the sword was created with the aid of myriad spells of death and destruction. To aid in their efforts to destroy this vile necromancer, they forged the wicked sword known as the Fellblade, blending gromril stolen from Karak Azgal with Warpstone. In the early days of Skaven history, the ratmen waged war against the Great Necromancer Nagash in an attempt to claim the great amount of Warpstone to be found deep beneath his fortress of Nagashizzar. The Fellblade, a product of Skaven craftsmanship, was one of the most powerful weapons ever created in the history of the mortal world. A mighty Skaven Warlord wielding the dreaded Fellblade.
